Alice Faye Flatt

Alice Faye Flatt, 52 of Mulkeytown, passed away at 11:55 P.M., Monday, July 8, 2002 at her residence.
Alice was a security officer for the Illinois Dept. of Agriculture. She was of the Christian faith. She was a member of the Du Quoin Legion and VFW Auxiliary.
She was born January 15, 1950 at Du Quoin, IL the daughter of Harold R. "Botchie" and Betty J. (Miller) VanHoorebeke.
She married Larry G. Flatt on September 16, 1988 at Paducah, KY and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Mulkeytown, mother- Betty J. VanHoorebeke of Pinckneyville, two sons- Keith Nickens of Pinckneyville, Brett Nickens of Du Quoin, daughter- Wendy Kelly and husband J. P. of Coello, four grandchildren- Tyler Nickens, Sydney Kelly, Cole Kelly, Mat Kelly, sister-in-law- Beverly VanHoorebeke of Tamaroa, nephew- Richard Wayne VanHoorebeke II of Tamaroa, mother-in-law- Eileen Flatt of Herrin.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother- Richard Wayne VanHoorebeke.
Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 11, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Rob Mathis officiating.
Friends called from 10 to 11 A.M., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.
